Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we process on the Menubarista website and waitlist, and what the Menubarista app does with your data. The short version: we only need your email address, we use it to tell you about the launch, and the app itself works entirely on your Mac.

1. Who we are

Webpath SRL, TIN 50429590, with its address in Otopeni, Romania, is the controller of the personal data described here. In this policy, "Menubarista", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Webpath SRL as the operator of the Menubarista website and app.

2. What we collect

• Waitlist: your email address, the date you signed up and, if the link you followed said so, where you came from (for example "reddit").
• Optional survey: if you answer the questions shown after you join, your macOS version, the features you'd use, what you'd like the app to do and your pricing preferences, stored with your waitlist entry. Every question can be skipped.
• Emails you send us: your address and anything you write, for example when you reply to the welcome email.
• Technical data: your IP address and browser information, which our hosting provider receives with every request. The website uses the IP address, kept in memory for at most ten minutes, to limit repeated sign-up attempts.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and the website sets no cookies at all.

3. Why we use it and our legal bases

• Consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)): to send you a welcome email, the launch announcement and your early-bird discount. You can withdraw consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, without affecting earlier processing.
• Consent (art. 6(1)(a)), given by sending the optional survey: to decide what to build and how to price the app.
• Legitimate interests (art. 6(1)(f)): to answer your messages, keep the website running and protect the waitlist from abuse.
• Legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c)): to comply with the law and respond to valid requests from authorities.

We never sell your data, use it for advertising or make automated decisions about you.

4. Who processes it for us

• Resend stores the waitlist and sends our emails.
• Hosting and network providers deliver the website and may keep short-lived technical logs.

They process data only on our instructions, under data-processing agreements. We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or in a merger or sale of the business, subject to confidentiality.

5. International transfers

Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on an adequacy decision (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Contact us for details of the safeguard that applies.

6. How long we keep it

Waitlist data, including survey answers, is kept until you unsubscribe, or until we stop running the waitlist after launch, whichever comes first. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to handle your request. Technical logs are kept only as long as our providers need them for security and troubleshooting.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access your personal data and get a copy;
• correct inaccurate data;
• have your data erased;
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time; and
• lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Romania, the ANSPDCP, or the authority in your country.

Email [email protected] to exercise a right. We may need to confirm that the address is yours, and we reply within one month.

8. The app itself

Menubarista runs entirely on your Mac: no account, no cloud processing, no analytics. Your files, screenshots and clipboard never leave your computer, and we cannot see them. If a future version adds anything that contacts our servers, such as license activation or update checks, we will update this policy before it ships.

9. Children

Menubarista is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell people on the waitlist by email.
